At Colonial Hills United Methodist School, learning goes beyond the classroom with exciting weekly enrichment classes that spark curiosity and creativity! Children explore music, build coordination in motor skills, get their hands dirty in the garden, expand their imaginations in library, experience community in chapel, develop critical thinking in computers, and dive into the wonders of STEAM. These joyful experiences enrich their development and help them grow in playful, meaningful ways.
Music
At CHUMS, children get to explore music every week. Focusing on developmental skills such as coordination, motor skills, language, and social confidence, children grow in confidence throughout the year. The class works on developmental skills such as coordination, fine motor skills, and social confidence. Our music teacher's patience and creativity make this enrichment class a favorite - helping your children develop a lifelong love for music.

Motor Skills
Our motor skills class uses focused movement and play to help children develop their gross and fine motor skills. Motor skills is full of fun, play-based activities like obstacle courses, movement games, and songs. This class is crucial for overall development - strengthening not only physical coordination but also cognitive, speech, and sensory growth.
STEAM
Welcome to our STEAM maker's space - a place for curiosities and questions! STEAM incorporates cognitive thinking, science, building, math and art in every project. Children will get their hands messy and their brains excited every day. With engaging lessons and creative challenges, students build essential skills, develop problem-solving abilities, and foster a lifelong love for learning

Garden
There’s something magical about digging in the dirt, planting tiny seeds, and watching them grow! Our outdoor classroom is a joyful place where children explore nature with wonder and curiosity. As they care for plants and witness the changes around them, as they create in our mud kitchen, and as they play at the tables, they learn patience, responsibility, and the beauty of growth.
Library
Our libraries are bright and full of space for your student to lose themselves in their imagination. Building literacy skills, developing empathy, promoting active listening, growing observation skills, and enhancing the imagination - our library enrichment time quickly becomes a favorite of our students.

Computer Concepts
Our Computer Concepts Lab offers learning through play in a variety of ways, including age-appropriate educational software with colorful graphics, songs, and silly sounds to make learning fun. Children explore basic computer concepts while developing fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and critical thinking — all in our “Under the Sea” themed room with color-coded keyboards.
Chapel
At our weekly chapel time, children learn Bible songs and stories, and grow in their sense of togetherness and community. Families are welcome to attend this weekly time, and it is a joy to see our children and families grow together.
