GIVING
Engaging a school community in fundraisers isn't just about getting donations. When parents and families are involved in meaningful ways, they bring a treasure trove of resources and enthusiasm that can turn a simple fundraising campaign into a successful community event. Please visit the link below to find our 2024-2025 school fundraising calendar. Your generous support and contributions make a big impact in building a productive partnership between the school and our wider community and go a long way to enhance and enrich the programs that make your child's CHUMS experience so special. Further information will be shared ahead of each fundraising event, and we are thrilled to keep you all posted on progress towards these goals as the year advances!
Giving to CHUMS is so important us & to the future of our school. We are so thankful and grateful for any gift we receive. As a not-for-profit school, your donations go a long way to us providing the best learning environment for our children.

2024-2025 Outdoor Garden Classroom Fundraiser

If you had a childhood that included digging in the dirt, searching for colorful rocks and other “treasures,” you’re very lucky! Dirt and mud play is not only a way to make precious childhood memories, it’s also a great way for children to learn, relax, and let out their creativity. Squishing and patting mud is a great way for your child to get tactile and develop learning skills with sensory play. This allows younger children to refine their sensory and imaginative skills whilst older children will improve their mathematical and scientific skills. It also helps children get used to their natural environment and playing outdoors (and away from screens). Remember what it was like growing up in the 1980s and 1990s? Children spent most of their time exploring their outdoor worlds.

Research shows that it can also be good for your child’s physical and emotional health. And you can’t start too early — toddlers and babies can benefit from mud play! At CHUMS we believe in the magic of mud. Accordingly, this year we endeavor to enhance our garden classroom to provide your child new outdoor experiences.

Kitchens are often the social hub of the home. So, it’s only natural that children enjoy playing and learning in their very own outdoor mud kitchen, a kitchen play area designed for children to play freely and imaginatively with mud, sand, water and other natural materials and feature a number of kitchen utensils such as pots, pans, jars, wooden spoons and whisks.
Don’t worry about kids getting “dirty.” Exposure to some germs and good bacteria in early childhood may create healthier immune systems that are less vulnerable to allergies and certain diseases.
